Bighorn Campground

This is a free campground on the Ya Ha Tinda ranch, which is a ranch owned and operated by the Canadian Government to raise and train horses used by Parks Canada.

It consists of a fairly big loop near the Bighorn and Red Deer rivers. There are no official camping spots - you just get what you can find. There are some outhouses and a few picnic tables.

From the campground it is a short walk to Bighorn Falls which are quite impressive.

You should be aware that there will probably be lots of horses here when you camp. It will smell like horses, and there will be lots of horse sounds.

You are free to hike or ride anywhere around here except in the fenced off area and around the buildings north-west of the campground.
