This is an easy beautiful hike near the Jasper townsite. There is not much elevation gain, but the top of the hill is mostly bare and offers some great views of the Athabasca River valley. It is a very popular hike, so expect to see a lot of other people around.
It is also a good place to hike in winter. Not a lot of people come here, but enough to keep a bit of a trail going.
To get to the trailhead, drive south of Jasper on the 93a, and turn east close to highway 16. You will cross a bridge over the Athabasca River, and right on the far side of the bridge is the parking area. There is an outhouse and trail map at the parking area.
This hike also has the option to connect to the Valley of Five Lakes hike.
