Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls is amazingly beautiful. It graces the front of almost all of Oregon's tourism literature. It is therefore extremely popular and extremely crowded. The view from below is probably the nicest, but if you want to get away from some of the crowds, you can do the roughly one mile hike up 11 switchbacks to the viewpoint at the top of the falls. Multnomah creek is beautiful and all the forest is very lush around here.
You can get to the falls either by the Interstate (84), or on the much more scenic highway 30 (the historic highway). The parking lots are often all full, so you may have to do a few passes to find parking if you're there at a busier time.
It's definitely worth checking out at least once, and then frequenting the less visited trails in the area. There are many other trails and falls, but many of them are pretty crowded too.
