Snowbird Pass

This is a dream day trip, starting from the Berg Lake campground, hiking towards the ranger cabin and taking the snowbird pass trail at the junction. The trail starts beside the rushing, silty stream emerging from under the Robson glacier, sprawled across the cirque-enclosed valley. The views of the glacier and the surrounding peaks, including Robson, grow more breathtaking as the trail gains altitude. Eventually there are meadows thick with marmots, and the trail finally ascends steeply to the pass, marking the continental divide. Here the vast Reef icefield blankets the scene, along with the Coleman glacier. Some peaks peek over the snow in the distance.
