Bald Hills

In winter we took a weekend off and stayed in a cheap hotel in Jasper. On Saturday, we drove up the Maligne Lake Road to the parking area at the end, and hiked up to the Bald Hills. Once the trees start thinning out, the view is actually pretty good. While the weather was pretty nice for this, when you get up high and the trees start thinning out, it gets much colder. It looked like this trail was actually travelled in winter, so I can't imagine how busy it would be in summer though. If I could find a time when it wasn't too busy, I'd love to hike further in the summer. Apparently the top is a beautiful, flower-filled meadow in summer, and it you can access some other trails from up there.
