Melvin Beach is just one fascinating part of this whole coastline. I highly recommend the whole Fundy Trail.
The trail down is good and well-travelled, but there is a fair amount of elevation loss. Once you're down at the beach, walking on the pebbles is not especially easy, but it's really interesting. The steep red rock cliffs are fascinating, and you can hike up the creek to Fuller Falls. Fuller falls itself is not that impressive, but it's worth checking out if you are already here. The official trail to see the falls is more easily accessed from above - the parking area by the falls is where you want to go if you don't want to go down to the beach.
