Skyline Trail

The Skyline Trail is one of the most popular trails in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and with good reason. The trail is well cared for and easy to walk, the views are incredible, and the forest you walk through to get to the views is beautiful. Meadows are scattered throughout. The south trail is definitely most popular - you can shorten the hike by more than a km by taking that both directions. I would highly recommend the loop though - there are fewer people on the north loop and the views along the coast are great!

We saw moose near the trail while we were hiking here. Make sure to give them space and not bother them - they can be extremely dangerous if they get annoyed by your presence but mostly they will ignore you.
