Pembina River is a nice, pretty shallow river - great for floating down on inflatable toys or homemade boats. The campground is large, populated, and tightly packed. Not a bad place to go camping close to Edmonton, but not if you want to get away on your own.
There are lots of facilities here including showers, playgrounds, RV sites, sports fields, etc. There are a couple small towns very close as well, in case you forget any camping supplies.
