I'm not really sure if there's a ravine here or not, but you do have to climb down a 100 foot cliff, hanging on to ropes and trees, to get to this beach. I would advise going in the morning, when the sun is shining on the cliff and waterfall, although it is still beautiful in the afternoon. Although it doesn't show very well in the pictures, it is a black sand beach, with very soft sand. It is a little hard to get to, and probably advisable to hire a guide. We managed to find it with the help of some friendly people we met along the way. It's a bit of a maze of trails at the top, and then you walk along the edge of a banana plantation for a bit before getting to the cliff with the ropes. Once you see the ropes, you know you're on the right track. We didn't see anyone else down there, although people come here fairly regularly. We didn't see other beaches on the island, so I can't compare, but this one is definitely worth visiting.
