Horseshoe Lake

Horseshoe Lake is 27 km south of Jasper along the Icefields Parkway. It is a spectacular blue-green mountain lake, with some great rocky cliffs which a lot of people use for cliff jumping. Heads up though - the water is very cold.
The trail beside the lake is not an official trail, and can be hard to find occasionally. But you are really just walking along a lake shore (although you have to detour around some thickets and rock outcrops occasionally) so you probably don't need to worry about getting lost.
This is a beautiful place to explore and relax without too many people bothering you - especially tourists. On weekends you might run into a lot of locals from Jasper.
