If there's another access point please let me know. I drove around the whole lake looking, but could only find the viewing platform on the east end of the lake.

I went here in winter when the lake was frozen over, so it was easy to hike around a bit. The whole area looks very swampy though, and there are no trails, so in summer I'm not sure how much exploring could be done. Maybe you could launch a watercraft of some sort (if it was very portable)?

Even being able to walk on the lake, it was hard to get away from the sounds of the city. Cars are all around here and you can see both Edmonton and St Albert from most places.

There is a lot of wildlife. Saw a few coyotes and lots of deer tracks.

To get here from Ray Gibbon Drive, turn east at Leclair Way and follow it to Rodeo Drive. Park somewhere in here and follow the bike path under Ray Gibbon Drive to the wildlife viewing platform.
