Bellis Natural Area is on both sides of highway 36, east of Smoky Lake. It is pretty popular, with a serviced campground on the south side of the highway, but also feels quiet and peaceful.

There are some 4wd sand roads through the area, which also work for hiking. A fire has been through here a few years ago, so there are lots of burned trees, and the poplars are coming up thick and fast. Wildlife is plentiful both on land and in the water. The lake by the campground is very small but lots of fish are constantly jumping.
