The Cooking Lake / Blackfoot recreation area is a large area east of Edmonton filled with rolling hills, swamps, and lakes. It is mostly treed with a few fields here and there.
There are miles and miles of trails networked all through the area. You can walk on all the trails, bike on a lot of them, and ride horses along a lot of them too. In winter, many of the trails are groomed for cross-country skiing.
