Astotin Nature Area is a relatively small area of forest for a nature reserve. It is off limits to vehicles of any type, so you are guaranteed a peaceful hike. There are some trails cut through the trees, although many of them are overgrown.

There was recently a forest fire here, so it's pretty interesting to walk through (warning - you may get charcoal on your clothes). Not everything was burned, and where it was burned it is growing back beautifully.

To get here from Edmonton, head north-east on highway 15, turn north onto secondary highway 830, and then west onto township road 562. After you pass range road 212, look for nature area signs on the fence on the south side of the road. At one point there is a bit of a gate in the fence. I just pulled off the road here, and parked in the grassy area beside the road.
